Our Gifts For Christmas 2014 appeal is now underway and we have been overwhelmed by the help given by our listeners.
Many donations of toys and cash have come flooding into the York Road studios since the launch.
Jason Anderson, Managing Director of 102.4 Radio Hartlepool, said "I knew that the townsfolk are generous but even I am surprised at the amount of gifts donated so far. But we want to reach out to as many disadvantaged children as possible this year, so please keep them coming".
Listeners are asked to drop off any new, unopened and unwrapped presents, suitable for boys or girls, either at Radio Hartlepool in York Road (opposite Kwik Fit/Carlton Bingo) or the Sainsbury's store at Middle Warren.
Recent visitors to the station, The Jar Family heard about our appeal and instantly donated £100 for us to buy some toys.

We are proud to announce the launch of our Gifts For Christmas 2014 appeal.
Teaming up with Sainsbury's at Middle Warren, we aim to top previous years and get as many toys in for disadvantaged children in Hartlepool.
On Monday 24th November 2014, we launched the appeal on our Breakfast Show.
Barry Gray from Smith and Graham solicitors, Charlotte, Sam and Trevor from Sainsbury's in Middle Warren and Jason Anderson from 102.4 Radio Hartlepool.
We are asking listeners to buy and extra gift when christmas shopping, either for a boy or girl, and as along as its brand new and unopened and unwrapped, you can drop it off at Radio Hartlepool in York Road or Sainsbury's in Middle Warren.
These presents will be distributed to children who wouldn't normally get anything via the team at Hartlepool Social Services.
Thanks to everyone who helps with our Gifts For Christmas 2014 appeal.
102.4 Radio Hartlepool has shown further commitment to the community and charity by teaming up with a Hartlepool resident to help raise money for a good cause.
Jo Banks was keen to organise a 'History Walk' around the Headland area and asked Radio Hartlepool if we could help her promote it with an on-air campaign.
Jason Anderson, Managing Director of 102.4 Radio Hartlepool, said "We were only too happy to help Jo with this request as we like to work with individuals and community groups to help them achieve their goals."
Jo ended up holding two very successful walks around the Headland and also managed to raise £75 from a modest ticket cost, which is being donated to the 'Scoliosis Campaign' charity.

Jason added "We are keen to help out other community organisations with charitable goals, so we would love to hear from anyone interested"
