Voluntary Community Correspondents Radio Role Community Correspondents will be going out and about in their community and reporting on community events, happenings and shows for collation and broadcast on FM. The role involves the use of portable recording microphones and the editing of reports using computer software, for scheduling and inclusion in local news bulletins and other programmes and features that the Community Radio Station will broadcast, all with a positive and local edge. It is expected that Volunteer Community Correspondents will be responsible for their own diary and arranging appointments, generally working under their own initiative to collate information. Training Full training will be given in the use of such equipment as recording microphones, audio mixing desks and editing software and indeed the rules and regulations. Personal Skills / Experience No prior experience is necessary as full training will be given, however, we do request that applicants are computer literate and proficient in the use of e-mails, internet, word documents, and to be a very good communicator. All successful applicants will be required to take an enhanced CRB check as we work with the young and the vulnerable, and will also be required to sign a Volunteer Agreement. Your Availability To volunteer around your own hours, anything from one hour per week to a maximum of 15 hours per week. |
